M.C. Law Group, LLC is a Connecticut immigration law firm serving individuals, couples, and families in matters involving U.S. immigration and nationality law. Our Fairfield office assists clients with family petitions, marriage-based residence, consular processing, fiancé visas, asylum, immigration court, citizenship, and document issues.
Immigration counsel for LGBTQ+ people and families
LGBTQ+ clients may face the same immigration rules as other applicants, but the evidence and practical risks can be different. A private relationship may leave a smaller paper trail. Identity documents may use different names, photographs, or sex markers. A person seeking asylum may need to explain experiences that are painful or unsafe to discuss. Our role is to identify the legal issue, explain realistic options, and help the client prepare accurate evidence without stereotypes or unnecessary disclosure.
We provide guidance for same-sex marriage green cards, K-1 fiancé visas, spousal visas and consular processing, LGBTQ+ asylum, immigration court matters, citizenship, and transgender and nonbinary immigration documents.
Case-specific advice, not assumptions
No immigration result is automatic. Marriage does not erase unlawful entry, prior removal orders, misrepresentation, criminal history, missed hearings, or other grounds of inadmissibility. Asylum deadlines and evidence requirements can also change the analysis. We review the person’s entries, departures, immigration history, family relationships, court history, and goals before recommending a filing strategy.
English and Spanish assistance
Our website provides immigration information in English and Spanish so that people can understand the basic process before speaking with the firm. Spanish-language visitors can begin with our guía de inmigración LGBTQ+ en Connecticut. Interpretation needs and preferred language should be raised when scheduling.
Start with a careful first conversation
A brief telephone evaluation can help identify the type of matter and whether a full legal consultation should be scheduled. Full consultations may take place by telephone, video, or at our Fairfield office, depending on availability and the needs of the case.
Contacting the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship, and website information is not legal advice. Avoid sending original documents or highly sensitive information until the firm confirms how it should be provided. To discuss your situation, visit our contact page or call 203-373-9080.
